Good news for people who want to travel from Singapore to Perth airports on a budget, a brand new low cost airline service will be available soon. Introductory fares on Scoot airlines, which will begin on the 19th December, will start at an amazing $88 for just one way. Why is this happening now? Liza Harvey (The Tourism Minister) noted that it would be a great addition because this opens the door for Singaporean tourists.
Singapore alone is responsible for spending more than $164 million which greatly helps the Australian economy and here were also more than 70,000 visitors last year alone. Not only does this budget airline affect Singapore, it also opens the doors for potential visitors from nearby regions such China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea as well.
At first, the flight will take place five times a week, utilising a Boeing 777 which houses 402 passengers. Perth will become the third destination in Australia for Scoot, right next to the Gold Coast and Sydney. Evan Hall who is in charge of the Tourism Council WA Chief Executive position has stated that these flights while cheap will allow a more broad audience of people to come to Perth.
As it currently stands, Australia Tourism councils and Scoot Airlines will be starting with a two year campaign to help promote and bring people from Singapore to Western Australia. The average price that both sides are looking at right now would be under $150 for a one way ticket.
In another announcement, Western Australia noted that tourism earned them over $7 Billion in the last year alone. Over seven million visitors who visited Western Australia spent at least one night there, which is a significant increase from the previous year (which adds up to 8%) and will continue to grow with this current deal.
